Over the many years of teaching, I have often been asked for advice relating to the best instruments for my students. They may not want the most expensive instruments but neither do they want the cheapest. I have put together a nice section of various models that are well made with good tone and appointments. They all have solid wood sound boards, tone wood bodies, and solid fret boards and bridges. The hardware, such as tuners and tail pieces, are solid, quality fittings. These are all name brand instruments and well regarded. They are reasonably priced and will serve both beginners and advanced players well.

It's important to me that musicians have good instruments to learn on, play on and refine both their manual dexterity as well as their ear. A well made and responsive instrument is critical for the aspiring musician. I select the best valued, quality instruments and price them very competitively. . Give me a call (or email) with any questions on selection, availability and pricing.

Consciously and unconsciously, I have been influenced by many musicians throughout my life. They have helped me enjoy the gifts of harmony and rhythm and to realize that playing music leads one onto a never-ending learning curve.

I was recently listening to a "Best of - " Les Paul and Mary Ford and I noticed musical passages that I play - I thought I made them up! I didn't! I heard those when I was very young, years before I started to play guitar as a teenager. I give thanks to all those wonderful people who inspired me.

Music has been my life: playing; arranging; teaching. Certain melodies capture my attention and I have to learn them. Songs that I couldn't vocalize, I would try to arrange instrumentally - letting the guitar, or mandolin, or banjo(!) do the singing.

The tunes chosen for this CD provide memories, inspire, and they feed my soul.
I hope that some of them may do the same for you.
